As a youth support specialist, I see every day how important our parks are in helping children grow up healthy, safe, and surrounded with love so they can reach their fullest potential.
That’s why I’m running to be one of the three “AT LARGE” commissioners you’ll be electing to the Minneapolis Park Board this November.
For years, Minneapolis was consistently ranked as having the #1 park system in America.
We prioritized investments in our youth, ensured our park employees had the tools they needed to succeed, and protected both existing and new green spaces so EVERYONE in Minneapolis could access world-class parks and programs. That’s how you build the best park system in the country.
Today, the Park Board is slipping, and cities across the nation are surpassing us. Recreation leagues that serve the most vulnerable youth in Minneapolis are being eliminated, park workers had to strike for the first time in more than 100 years to secure better conditions, and commissioners are rolling back inclusive policies while pursuing expensive projects that don’t always serve all of us.
We need to get back to prioritizing our city’s youth, protecting our green spaces, and investing in the next generation of parks and park workers.
I’m ready to do the hard work of collaborating with EVERYONE to ensure we once again have the best parks in America for generations to come. I’d be honored if you’d choose me as one of your three AT LARGE votes - Early voting starts on September 19th and Election Day is Tuesday, November 4th.
Let’s get to work!
