A Progressive Voice for North Minneapolis
Running for Minneapolis Park Board this November!
LABOR ENDORSED
Neighbors and Friends,
Like many of you, I’ve been deeply concerned watching how the Minneapolis Park Board has shifted away from what was once a national model—leading the way in youth investment and strong relationships with workers—into a public crisis. The trust of our young people, park workers, and residents has been shaken. We can and must do better.
That’s why I’m announcing my candidacy for Minneapolis Park & Recreation Board Commissioner At Large.
As a youth homelessness prevention specialist, I see every day how public systems impact our lives. Our parks already play a vital role in youth employment, childcare, and connecting residents to resources. With the right leadership, they can do even more. A city as great as ours deserves Park Board Commissioners who honor our progressive values and stand proudly with working families.
As a third-generation social worker, a daughter of two proud AFSCME members, and a Minneapolis resident who cherishes our world-class parks, I know how much is possible when we invest in public goods and services and those who deliver them.
I’m also honored to share that I’ve been endorsed by the Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation (MRLF)—a powerful vote of confidence from the tens of thousands of working families who enjoy and care for our parks every day.
There’s more to come, but for now, if you’d like to be part of this new chapter, join us at AmberFrederick.com.
In solidarity,
Amber Frederick
